Immigrants For Integration
(Somewhere ... there is a place for us.
A place where there are no Missiles crashing down upon
us from the Sky; where there are no Gangs of Armed Men
terrorizing the Country Side; and where my "Race" is not
used as an excuse to harm me. A place where I will not
have to worry about my Loved Ones getting shot, or being
Kidnapped, and forced to serve in an illegal Militia; a place
where there will be plenty of fresh Water to drink, and
enough Food to eat, so I will not have to see my Loved
Ones starve. And a place where we don't have to submit
to the dictates of a corrupt Government, and its
Oppressive Armed Forces, and we can learn the true
meaning of the word "Freedom."
Somewhere, there is a place where we can enjoy all of the
Blessings of Peace, and it is possible to live without the
Fear of being Attacked. A place where we can have a
genuine Hope for a better Tomorrow, and we won't have
to dread the coming of another Day. There is someplace, it
is waiting for us in the Future; and it can be ours, if only
we will work together and ... help each other ... to make it
happen. We can have a more meaningful Life and a more
Peaceful Society; this is possible -- it could be ours. We
can make of this troubled Planet, a Place of Sanctuary for
us all.)
Thru out the World today, there are millions of people who
are suffering from the hardships imposed on them by War,
Poverty, Discrimination, or a Lack of Opportunity. There
are many who would leave their Native Land and become
Immigrants -- if it meant they could have a new Beginning
for Themselves, and they could find a Place of Shelter to
Raise their Children. 54
These people would be happy to come here, to
America; even if it meant working in humble Jobs and at
low Wages; simply in the hope of having Better
Living Conditions, immediately for themselves, and for
their children in the future. All we need to do is just to give
them a chance -- an opportunity to improve themselves.
Why don't we invite them to come here? We could use
their Labor; and they could use our stable Social Order,
and the Opportunities that are available to them here, to
change their lives. Why don't we share our resources with
each other and work together for the Common Good?
Guest Workers --
Some Occupations, which require very little Skill; such as
Farm Workers, Field Hands, Landscapers, Construction
Laborers, Domestic Servants, Health Care Workers, Food
Processors, and Restaurant Personnel; can require work
that is physically demanding, (or maybe, is thought of as
demeaning); and will usually offer those Jobs at low
Wages, Wages that are not acceptable to most American
Workers.
If "Those In Need" were offered those very same Jobs at
Fair Wages (the Minimum Wage in the States where they
would be employed), and if they are given the chance to
become U.S. Citizens ... they would gladly leave their
Home Lands to come here. These people offer us a vast,
untapped, reserve of Labor that is available for Hire. Our
Employers should be willing to Sponsor them and to pay
all of the expenses incurred to get them here, and duly
settled in our Country. (A Sponsorship Program would be
of benefit to everyone involved, while it would also serve
to bring greater organization to our Immigration Policies.)
55
The Immigrants can work for us, we will provide a place of
Shelter for them, (and for the Members of their Immediate
Family; meaning their Grand Parents, Mother and Father,
and their own Children), and working together -- sharing in
each other's strengths -- we will be able to have a more
promising Future. A Future where we might all have a
chance at happiness.
The Breaking Point --
In some parts of Africa and the Middle East today there is
Drought, Famine, War, a break down of Civil Order, and a
wide spread Social Upheaval -- while the people who live
there struggle to survive.
The flood of Immigrants who are leaving the Area by any
means available, by; Plane, Boat, Car, or even on Foot;
and the enormous Refugee Camps which have been
established there, and where some people have gone in
an attempt to escape from the Hell Like Chaos; reveal the
desperation of those who live in these Areas.
Many of these beleaguered people face a doubtful Future,
where their suffering will remain intense, where everyday
may be their last, and where they do remain in urgent
need of assistance. Their circumstances warrant a special
consideration from us and we should think of them first --
when we seek out Refugees to come to our Country.
The need is there.
And, in other Areas, such as; India, Bangladesh, South
East Asia, the Philippines, China, N. Korea, and Latin
America; there can be Civil Strife, Poverty, Discrimination,
or a crushing Lack of Opportunity that can stifle the Spirit
of their own People. They should also have a high priority
for our Immigration Efforts. 56
If we did recruit people from these areas it would serve to
relieve the pressure on the remaining resident Population;
the Immigrants would be able to escape from the
horrific Living Conditions; Employers in this Country
would be able to find an enthusiastic Work Force that is
available for Hire; and we could satisfy our desire to bring
a more complete Racial "Mix" to our beloved Nation. It
would be a good solution for us all.
In addition to our Immigrants For Integration Policy; we
could also open the Doors of Migration and allow people
who are living in Areas of extreme Crisis (such as Haiti and
the Ukraine) to come into our Country without regard for
any restrictions imposed upon them because of their "Race."
Reverse Migration --
Parts of our World currently exist in a state of unrelenting
Conflict; where there is no Social Order other than the
Emotional Trauma, and the Desperation, caused by War.
It is possible for us to bring Peace and Stability to those
Areas but it would be a very difficult task for us to
accomplish and our efforts would meet with a great deal
of resistance; from both within the War Zone and also
from around the World. Our motives would be questioned,
we would be accused of Colonialism and of attempting to
advance our own limited National Interests, at the expense
of everyone else. But ... if we are willing to pay the price,
we could bring Calm and a Sense of Healing to some
of the most troubled Areas on the Planet.
We might be able to help.
57
We would have to (literally) move into those Areas and
make them a part of our Greater Social, Economic, and
Political Union. We would need to welcome them into our
Federation, to organize Local and State Governments, to
offer them Statehood, and to treat them as Equal Partners
to the other States.
We would have to establish Local National Guard Units
(who would function with our active Military Intervention
and continuing support); these Units would be responsible
for fostering and maintaining the rule of duly constituted
Laws and Political Institutions; we would have to organize,
and hold, Democratic Elections (where all responsible
Adults would be eligible to Vote and would be allowed to
participate in the running of their Government): Plus, we
would need to encourage Economic Growth and
Development in those Areas, so that everyone in the
Community would have an equal opportunity to
advance themselves.
This would be asking a lot from us, but this is what is
necessary if we were to bring about a Lawful Civil Order
and Social Stability to the People who live in the most
distressed places in our World Wide Society. This would
be asking a lot from us but -- it could be done.
